Name the evidence state

A compatibility tool should distinguish a documented supplier relationship from an unverified combination. The lookup here has selected Choice cup-to-hinged-lid records and the Eco-Products cup-to-EcoLid record. If another combination is chosen, the result is unknown. It is not described as a tested non-fit, because no such experiment or manufacturer exclusion has been established.

Do not stretch a known family

The maker lists several lid codes for EP-BHC12-WA. That helps identify exact alternatives, but it does not make every 90 mm lid a match. The tool can show the maker’s published alternatives while keeping price and case-count data limited to the selected EP-ECOLID-W retail offer. A known code relationship and a verified current selling price are separate evidence fields.

Use a concrete counterexample

Choosing a Choice 12 oz cup and an EcoLid does not return compatible merely because both pages mention 12 oz or similar diameters. Nor does it return “will not fit” without an explicit source. It returns an unresolved cross-family pair and directs the buyer to seek exact confirmation. This keeps absence of evidence from becoming a fabricated technical conclusion.

Do not infer from a photograph

A lid resting on a cup in a marketing image may not show the selected variant or an actual sealed interface. Our generic illustrations intentionally do not document a named SKU fit. They cannot be used as product evidence. A visually plausible fit in a picture is not a current supplier statement about the exact two ordering codes.

Ask a specific question

Provide the supplier with both full codes, any unit suffixes and the intended cup version. Ask for the current compatible lid list and whether a proposed replacement is explicitly supported. A request saying only “does your 12 oz lid fit?” omits the cup family and may produce an overbroad answer. Keep the reply attached to the actual selected products and date.

Keep validation outside a promise

Even a documented pairing is not a guarantee against damaged rims, changed production or every service condition. This website has not inspected stock or performed closure tests. Use the lookup to prevent unsupported substitutions, then follow the current manufacturer instructions and your own approved receiving process. Unknown results remain visible rather than being hidden to make the tool seem more decisive.

Keep unknown records useful

An unknown result should still identify what needs checking:the cup code, the proposed lid code and the missing supplier relationship. That is more actionable than a generic red “no” label. It also prevents a buyer from believing an untested combination was physically rejected. If new official evidence is later obtained, the record can be updated with its source and date. Until then, the calculator can still count cases for known products without pretending to have solved the unverified interface question.
